Review: THE DIVERGENT SERIES: ALLEGIANT – PART 1

By Renee’ Collins

Rating: 4 (Out of 5 Reels)

After the earth-shattering revelations of Insurgent, Tris (Shailene Woodley) must escape with Four (Theo James) beyond the wall that encircles Chicago to finally discover the shocking truth of what lies behind it (IMDB).

This film is the third installment in the Divergent Series and after seeing all of them most will notice how much more succinct the writing is becoming. This film does not drag and we are swiftly taken through the plot which is refreshing.  Woodley and James continue to grow in their acting and fortunately their characters are as well.  The first installment seemed more like teenage fodder but they are getting better.

Computer generated special effects have been a big part of each of these films but seem to be more streamlined and add to the overall look and feel. This film is well made and acted and I look forward to seeing the final installment.
